Marini Brothers have designed and installed hundreds of retaining walls throughout Bergen County and Northern NJ. A retaining wall is a structure that holds back earth from a building or other structure. Retaining walls stabilize soil and/or rock from downslope movement or erosion and provide support for large grade changes. Retaining walls have become an important part of landscapes in New Jersey.

The most important consideration in proper design and installation of retaining walls is the knowledge that the retained material is attempting to move downslope due to gravity. This creates soil pressure behind the wall that can be increased dramatically by rainwater if drainage is not installed properly.
